Editorial policy

One question per page

Every page answers one primary reader question, states who it helps, and names the boundary that changes the answer. If replacing “Spokane” with another city leaves the page unchanged, the local angle has not been earned and the page is not published.

Jurisdiction is stated, never assumed

A Spokane mailing address does not establish which government or utility serves a property. Pages label the responsible authority — City of Spokane, City of Spokane Valley, unincorporated Spokane County, another named municipality, or a specific provider — and do not apply one jurisdiction's rule to another.

Sources

1. The responsible city, county, utility, agency, programme administrator, or preservation office.
2. Manufacturer documentation, where a product's own limits are the point.
3. University extension services and qualified professional organisations.
4. Permissioned local documents, quotes, and firsthand reporting.
5. Reputable secondary sources, clearly identified as such.

Search snippets are not evidence. Each claim is read on the authority's own page, and the page it came from is listed with the date it was read. Where two official sources conflict, the conflict is recorded rather than smoothed over.

Numbers

A price or fee needs a locality, a collection date, a source, a scope, and whether the figure was advertised, quoted, or invoiced. Where that evidence is absent, the page describes the factors that move the cost and publishes no figure. Pillar guides carry no prices at all.

Dates and corrections

Pages carry a publication date and the date their sources were last read. Dates advance when the substance is re-checked, not to appear fresh. Corrections use the route on the contact page.

Nothing invented

No author biography, expert review, testimonial, neighbourhood characterisation, project story, quote, approval, price, or photograph of a real job is published unless a real person or document stands behind it. Programmes and assistance resources are never described as open without a current source.

Safety

This site coordinates decisions; it does not teach hazardous work. Roof, electrical, gas, structural, tree-felling, excavation, refrigerant, lead, and asbestos work is routed to the responsible agency or a licensed professional. No asbestos-abatement instructions are published, ever.

This publication carries no advertising, sponsored content, or compensated links, and it does not sell or book services. Should a compensated link ever be added, it will carry rel="sponsored nofollow" and a disclosure next to the link, not only in the footer.
